a tale of two cities

i'll be home for christmas, you can count on it...

i gave my mom the best christmas gift, i surprised her and i went home to LB. kuya jerome picked me up from the airport and we did some last minute shopping. then, we had this whole production on how i should come into the house. i called mom on the landline and she was like, "hey! it's like you and your brothers came home at the same time." then i told her, what if i came home? then she suddenly looked up and saw me. i will never forget the look on her face and how tight she hugged me...

they say, when in rome, do as the romans do...let me twist that.
when in bacolod, do as the ilonggos do...SMILE!

welcome to the land of smiles....BACOLOD! my friend jacque invited me to spend new years at their place and i accepted the invitation. so, after a 20 minute flight, i was on an island of new adventures. we went to her friend's house for the new years countdown (it's in this really nice neighborhood, bethany court. i would like to buy a house there!), i had one glass too many of white wine, met new friends (vin from vancouver!), enjoyed the fireworks, went around the city (they have this really nice chain of restaurants called bob's. we spent a lot of time at bob's cafe along lacson. very very nice!), and ate the famed chicken bacolod (and met the owner, rico! not bad looking...hehehe). and what do you know, as we were walking through the mall, i ran into an ex-trainee of mine (hi butch!)! they said that bacolod was just a small city, never expected it to be that small! it was fun. i met up with some old friends (JJ cos and alfred!! you rock!) from manila who went home for the holidays. it was great! and, i met virgie, the owner of virgie's pasalubong, home of the delicious napolones. ended up buying a LOT of pasalubong from her store. all in all, i couldn't have spent new years weekend any other way...
