pit senyor!

sinulog, the annual event all of cebu waits for that celebrates senor sto. nino. people from all over cebu, and other parts of the country, come to the city to join the festivities. there are floats, parades, processions, and most importantly, PARTIES!! and that's exactly where i've been for the past 3 days.

three parties, three genres of music, celebrating with three different guys, in three days! now before you look at me with evil stares (don't give me the evils!) let me just state a disclaimer

no relationships were formed, nor destroyed, during the three day event. our connection remains strictly platonic (with moments of kilig! i just let myself pretend! sue me!) and shall stay that way due to existing circumstances

with that said, let us do a recap of the weekends events, shall we...

jan. 14, day 1 of sinulog
after work, fifi, my highschool batchmate, and i met up in ayala. when we got there, we went to gerry's, got a couple of beers and watched the people dance. there was this amazing drum beating group! they mixed the drums with the tunes that the DJ was spinning. it was soooo good! even though fifi wasn't dancing, i was in a world of my own! i was dancing with no one, and yet with everyone! at first i thought that the crowd wasn't gonna let loose, but they finally did! must have been all the beers! it was weird coz usually i'm the one who wants to go home first but fifi pulled me out of the crowd. we went home at 2am.

jan. 15, day 2 of sinulog
my first weekend since i got back from vacation and it was time to do chores. for the past week, i've had nothing to eat in my fridge. i've also had nothing to drink. my laundry was piled up. i had my unmentionables to wash. needless to say, it was busy start to my day.
kay and i were suppose to go out and hit ayala but she had to stay home and attend to family matters. luckily, don was available and we went to ayala to check out the activities. we planned on going to the house party in hapjaps. we walked around the mall until we decided to check out one of the concert venues. i looked at the band line up and surprise surprise!! sugarfree was going to play! so we hung out, watched the local bands, checked out the people. in the process, i was texting my former trainee turned friend *sniffles to come over and join the festivities. good thing it was his rest day and he was able to make it. sugarfree was taking forever to start, and when they stated with this whole dating game with this sam dude from big brother, we decided to check out hapjaps. we danced for a while but there was just too many people!!! and i was getting paranoid that sugarfree was already playing. when we got back to the venue, we made it just in time! it was sugarfree's time to rock. so it was me, don and sniffles rocking to the tunes. the cebu crowd was so hard to warm up!! i felt that ebe was doing everything to get the audience to participate. jal and mitch were equally awesome! during one of the pauses in between songs, i heard jal say "hi to my friend,ces!". i was happy that he saw me! too bad i didn't have a chance to treat him to beer or something after the concert. i couldn't find him.
so anyway, don left early, even before the set was done. so it was me and sniffles left. we finished the concert and then we decided to hang out at my place. so that was around 2am. when we got to my apartment, we talked and talked and talked til 6am. the moon was really pretty that night. we stayed out on the balcony and the night wind was really cool. if it were any other guy, the whole setting was quite romantic. but then, we are just friends. :) at 6, we then made breakfast, watched tv and somewhere along the way, i fell asleep and he fell asleep. when we woke up, we cooked lunch, watched more tv and talked some more. it was the longest "date" i've ever been on! started at 1130pm and ended at 7pm! whew! but we're just friends, and it's cool. someone new to hangout with :)

jan. 15, day 3 of sinulog
sniffles and i started the day with good food and good conversation. when he went home at 7, it was suppose to be just so he can take a bath and take a cat nap. he didn't get to wake up. i was supposed to invite him to come with me and jojo to watch the fireworks.
jojo and i met up at starbucks just before the fireworks started. i was afraid that i was gonna be late for the show coz it was traffic going to capitol but i made it on time.
the fireworks show was fantastic!! it was ssssoooo pretty!! all the pretty colors up in the sky! it was the first time that i saw purple fireworks. sooo cool! during the show, i had pretend kilig moments...

1) when the fireworks were way up in the sky, i would rest my head on jojo's shoulder.
2) after the show, the sea of people was just amazing. we had to swim out to get to the concert venue. he grabbed my hand and held it until we got out.

hay...

but enough of that! not like it means anything! he's just naturally sweet and nice. he's a big brother to me. i like hanging out with him. he's a big kid :)

we watched the concert of brownman revival at the sanmig concert station. got free beer courtesy of bo! the bad thing was, i couldn't drink as much as i wanted to because i had work at 12noon. jojo was forced to drink a pitcher of draft! hehehe the band was nice. the guitarist was cute. the singer was cute. the bassist was cute. actually, they were all cute in a reggae way. hehehe we went home at 2am.

that's my sinulog weekend in review. it was a great way to start my year in cebu. and, i kept an old friend, made a new one, and enjoyed jamming with all of them.
