i wish i had ruby slippers

during my lunch break, i stood outside my classroom and ate the napolones that one of my trainees gave me. i looked out the window and saw the mountains of cebu city and this sudden wave of familiarity came over me. it was like looking out of esay's house in umali and looking at mt. makiling. i will never, nor would i want to, escape LB.

i just called los banos and got to talk to jesse pooh. i miss him so much! even just a month of not seeing him makes me miss out on so many things.

the other day, a wave of homesickness came over me. i called kuya's phone and was able to talk to him and mom. i didn't realize that i was already crying! never thought i would miss everyone so much. and it's just as well that i won't be leaving the country just yet. i don't think i'll be able to be away from the family for a long period of time. there's a reason for everything.

amazing how one single word can turn your day around. from crying to smiling uncontrolably, someone texted me and i found it sweet. a simple word moved my heart. he made my otherwise dreary day, happy.
