where is the P in passion?

he talks about his vision for the farm house that he wants to build. it's going to be setup so that it's self reliant. bio-gas will be used for the stove, poultry and swine byproducts will be fertilizer for his organically grown food. he'll do intercropping to maximize the land. then together with other farmers, sell his goods in the city and set up a cooperative. he's already involved in the chamber of commerce.

*he* talks about his photos. light exposure, shutter speeds, lens openings. he's inspired by a flower, the sky, a goat crossing the street. he's thinking of next photo sessions, locations, models, effects. he's joining a photo marathon, applying as a cruise photographer. he's covered the ms.earth pagent. successfully completed a photography class. shot for restaurants, elan modelling. when he talks about it, you don't only hear intensity, you FEEL it.

two different guys, but with one thing in common.

PASSION: Definition: intense, driving, or overmastering feeling or conviction

when i evaluate where i am right now in life, i'm not passionate about anything. nada. nil. zilch. nothing. what's wrong? have i stagnated? is this it? so when i hear both of them talk about their passions, i'm happy for them. that they have something to make them happy. then i want to cry. i want to cry for myself. i want to reach into my chest cavity, take out my heart, slice it open and see what's inside. coz i know somewhere buried deep in it is a small seed of something that i know i can be passionate about.

so if someone can lend me a scalpel and a retractor, i'd like to find out where in the world my passion went.

Passion, like poetry, or art, is the overflow of the soul. That kind of passion can drive some a very long way, but it tends to ebb and flow depending on the seasons. There's an even better kind of passion that doesn't ever run out. You find it at the Source. You know how to find Him, and you don't even need a scalpel. ;)

I used to be passionate about some things too...

Now it seems, the only thing I'm passionate about is searching for what I'm passionate about.
